Volleyball Season Opens Today
The Highland Park Lady Scots open the regular season with a dual match against Rowlett and Red Oak at 5 p.m. today at Allen High School.
Coming off a 20-23 campaign, Highland Park hopes to get off to a stronger start than it did in 2011. The Lady Scots lost six of their first eight matches last year.
“It’s important to have a positive start to the season,” head coach Michael Dearman said. “I believe we will. Looking at our schedule, it looks like we could have some early success and build from there.”
Highland Park’s home opener is not until Aug. 28.
