High school football season is less than a month away. And the Highland Park Scots will hit the practice field on Monday to continue preparing for their Aug. 31 season opener against three-time defending Class 4A state champion Aledo in the Tom Landry Classic.

The Scots will practice from 3-5 p.m. Monday inside the indoor practice facility.

Highland Park is coming off a 12-1 season in which it lost to Tyler John Tyler, 42-39, in the third round of the playoffs.

The Scots will scrimmage at Plano West at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 24. Highland Park’s first home game is Sept. 7 against Monterrey (Mexico) Tec. The Scots open District 10-4A play at home against Forney on Sept. 28.
