Park Cities to Host Joint West Nile Press Conference Tonight

Highland Park and University Park will host a joint press conference at 9 pm, tonight, in front of UP City Hall, to addresses the two municipalities’ West Nile outbreaks.
Reps will discuss the possibility of aerial spraying for the virus, but no decisions have been made, according to HP spokesman Lance Koppa. Those decisions, he said, would come from the mayors and councils of the two municipalities.
“This is not quick, this is a major decision,” Koppa said Friday night.
The press conference comes on the heels of recommendations from county officials to begin aerial spraying for the rapidly spreading virus. The Turtle Creek/Park Cities/North Dallas corridor is considered by Dallas County health officials to be the epicenter of the outbreak.
More as we get it.

Sorry to miss the outdoor meeting held between dusk and dawn, but I don’t want to risk getting a mosquito bite. Duhhh.

Duhhh is right tk-bet you say that a lot. I have not been following this west nile thing, but, I have always known high feeding time for mosquitoes is AT dusk and AT dawn. Never have much of a problem with the little buggers when I am in TX (in Hawaii now-cooler here) because I don’t have standing/stagnant water in my yard and I do have citronella plants.
