Highland Park UMC Schedules Steele Services

John and Dina Steele were active members of Highland Park United Methodist Church. Officials there sent out the following bulletin via email 30 minutes ago:

In light of the sudden and tragic loss within the Steele family, the Sanctuary and Cox Chapel will be open all day today (July 11th) and tomorrow (July 12th) for prayer. Pastors are readily available for prayer and support by contacting Congregational Care at 214-523-2241. Additionally, if you would like to talk with any of our partnering grief counselors, please contact Gregg Medlyn of The Marriage and Family Group, PLLC at 214-613-1656.

A Youth Prayer Service will be held this evening at 7:30pm in the Youth basement, open to incoming 7th-12th graders. There will also be a Family Prayer Service tomorrow evening, July 12th at 7pm in the Sanctuary. All are welcome.

In this time of loss, help us remember that God is our ultimate source of peace, comfort, and perspective. For a helpful list of prayers and scriptures in a time of death and tragedy, please click here.

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.    Romans 8:38-39

The first line says that both Steeles were active members of HPUMC. She survived so wouldn’t she still be an active member?

They were and she is. Nothing indicates the were “former members”. Where are you coming from?
