Construction on Cedar Springs Complex is Underway

I’ve been keeping an eye on a vacant lot at Cedar Springs Road and Sale Street, just near Turtle Creek. Not only because I live in a condo a block away, but because I keep hearing rumors that developers are about to break ground on the 30-year vacant lot, and that it will be an unbelievable new apartment complex.

Well, the rumors were right, and construction has officially started.

Developer Robert Shaw, the man responsible for the Uptown real estate boom in the 1990s, is back form developing in the suburbs to building a 347-unit apartment complex in the central city.

“We are moving full speed ahead,” Shaw told the Morning News yesterday. He said the first units should be ready in about a year, so it sounds like they really are moving FULL speed ahead.
