Complete Streets Program to Pilot on Knox Street
Complete streets — the concept of allowing for multi-modal transportation on previously automobile-only roadways — may soon become a reality on Knox Street.
According to city bond documents, released last week by Dallas city manager Mary Suhm, Knox Street may receive $735,000 worth of love in the coming years, for added bike lanes and pedestrian improvements. The city plans to allocate $20 million of its proposed $600 million bond for complete streets.
The bond package is currently receiving public input; it will go before Dallas voters in November.
