Calling All Do-Gooders to Today’s Marrow Registry Drive
Really, there’s no bad reason for choosing to organize a marrow registry drive through Be The Match, but Jesuit student Brian Christensen might have the best reason ever: a similar event saved his mom’s life. When Rhonda Christensen was fighting Acute Myeloid Leukemia and needed a marrow donor, a college student who had joined the registry five years prior was identified as a match. Brian’s marrow drive is not only a tribute to his mom and her donor, but a project that he hopes will earn him the rank of Eagle Scout. Today’s drive is in Preston Hollow, but the endeavor will take him to UNT, SMU, and Frisco in the coming weeks. His goal is register 100 donors.
