Whooping Cough Numbers on The Rise
My handsome friend Brantley Hargrove has the details over at Unfair Park, but here’s the gist: incidences of whooping cough are on the rise in Dallas.
Nearly 40 cases have been reported in Dallas County this year, outpacing 2010 and 2011 numbers. Families with infants (which is, oh, if I had to guess based on school enrollment numbers, most Park Cities families) should be on alert for persistent cold-like symptoms accompanied by, you guessed it, a cough.
Babies under six months are particularly susceptible, since they haven’t yet received their vaccinations.
Always funner if pronounced hoo-ping instead of hwoop.
