SMU May Land Troubled Arizona Transfer

Josiah Turner, the heralded five-star recruit turned suspended, benched point guard at the University of Arizona, may be headed to SMU.

Sources told SNY’s Adam Zagoria the 19-year-old freshman transfer would select Larry Brown and SMU over a half dozen other schools. Turner planned to visit Missouri, New Mexico, Louisville, Iona, and St. John’s. So, basically, every kind of DI program, in every corner of the country.

Not sure if Turner’s arrest Thursday for alleged “extreme DUI” will affect the transfer, but we know SMU needs a point guard after Brown cut starter Jeremiah Samarrippas.
