The NorthPark AMC Will Show The Hunger Games at 3:15 a.m. Friday, if That’s The Kind of Thing That Excites You
I was skimming this story about The Hunger Games earlier, trying to catch up on the phenomenon in a cursory afternoon of Cliffs Notes, blogs, and Twitter. Turns out THG has pre-sold more tickets on Fandango than any non-sequel movie in history (read: non-Twilight or Harry Potter).
Then I got to thinking about our own mega-plex, the NorthPark AMC.
– There wil be 25 screenings of the film, beginning at 12:01 a.m. Friday. I’ve gone to midnight screenings of two films on opening night: The Dark Knight and GI Joe: Rise of Cobra. One of them was worth it. The other, the theater was half-full.
– One of those Hunger Games screenings kicks off at 3:15 a.m.
– The movie is 2 hours and 22 minutes long, meaning, even if you did plan on going to work or school the next morning, you’d have maybe an hour or two to sleep.
Wow, I can’t wait to spend two hours watching teenagers chop each other up in the service of a tedious love story.
Yes, I’m getting old.
