How Did Greenville Avenue St. Patrick’s Day Parade Affect You?

I heard from a reader over the weekend who wished that “The Bubble” really was a bubble, preferably with guarded gates at each entrance to University Park and Highland Park.

The piles of beer-can-laden trash, discarded vomit-stained clothing, and, yes, even excrement just aren’t gifts I choose to receive from the St. Patty’s revelers.

Did anyone else have a similarly disgusting weekend?

I haven’t been back in town to see my yard, but my parents live on Amherst past Boedecker. They reported people parked on their entire block and some trash, but otherwise uneventful.

Two years ago they were driving on Milton and Cleburne when a man with a truck pulling a float full of children got out of his truck, opened my father’s car door and verbally accosted him. (The man apparently wanted the entire line of cars to back down the street so he could get through. My dad had other vehicles behind him and no place to go.)
