Republicans Will Have Options to Replace Hartnett
Texas’ primary elections have been scheduled for May 29, and the deadline to file a candidacy is coming up at 6 p.m. this Friday. Will Hartnett, Preston Hollow’s longtime representative in the state House, is not running for re-election. But two neighborhood residents — David Boone of Rockbrook Estates and Jason Villalba of Les Jardins — have filed candidacies with the state Republican Party, as has Kenneth Sheets, who lives near White Rock Lake.
The Texas GOP lists Sheets as the incumbent in the race. But he was the incumbent in District 107, which his home was drawn out of, thanks to redistricting.
The Democrats have one registered candidate: William “Bill” Smith. I couldn’t find a website for him. Sorry, Bill.
