Former Borders to Become Max’s Wine Dive

Last year, when Borders stores across the country were shutting down, a couple of us talked about what the ones in our coverage areas could become. I thought the spot on McKinney Avenue would be the perfect location for the first Dallas Trader Joes. I was wrong about it being the first, but held out hope that a T-Joes would soon open a block from my apartment.

I was wrong.

SideDish reports this morning that the spot will become Max’s Wine Dive, a chain with locations already in San Antonio, Houston, and Austin. I’m willing to give the spot a chance, but with dishes like “Nacho Mamma’s Oysters,” and “Truffle MAX ‘n Cheese,” my patience may soon wear thin.

They’re planning a late 2012 opening.
