She gets paid to watch that junk? Why isn’t she out peeking into budgets, prying into smokey back rooms or tracking down sex offenders? It’s a waste of pure journalistic talent I say. Super Merritt, who brought the kryptonite to the party?

I just got a visual of Merritt peeking around the corner at Peggy Sue’s wearing a red trench coat and matching fedora (à la Carmen Sandiego). . . Except now that I’ve said it, that sounds more like something Pamela Duarte would wear. . .

Actually, I think I’ve seen a lot more comments along the line of “WHAT HAPPENED TO Merritt?”, as opposed to “WHERE IS Merritt”. Yet nobody ever answers that question. Seems that she was better than all of us readers at continually asking until she got some decent answers.

    Dan, What Happened to Merritt?

Well now I REALLY want to know what happened to her, because if that is her punishment (having to watch that abomination of a show filled with human trash), then she must have done something REALLY bad.

The question that should be asked is whether she paid back all of the people that she scammed with her fraudulent egg donor business. There was never a follow up her statements that she would repay all victims by the end of March 2011.

wow, there’s some libel if i’ve ever seen it. From what i saw it seemed like the business got out of control vs being a fraud. anyway, lots of businesses go bust all the time and many customers, suppliers, lenders and investors never get anything back. if i was merritt i would just have declared bankruptcy and poof all problems gone (oversimplification)

There was no scam. There was no malicious intent.

Wow, my “Eggs and Book” remark weeks ago gets censored but Gringo Bling’s makes it through the filter?

Continuing to take client’s money and when you know there’s no possible way you’ll be able to provide the goods/services promised is at best immoral and more likely is fraudulent.

Seriously folks, back to reality. The biz is dead. I’m sure we would have heard something if there was any more to the story. Move on.

oh there was something to the story, alright…if it had been any other park cities resident, i’m sure mrs. merritt would have been all over it. lucky for her, she was the one doing the scamming.

Her recaps are hilarious. If she can’t be here, we can at least enjoy these posts. Thanks for the link.

She may be snarky, but I never found her to be malicious. And she never posted anonymously–if you are going to criticize, post under your real name. I dare ya.

There is no shortage of media outlets in Dallas.

If Brett Shipp didn’t dig this back up to pull at heartstrings over February sweeps and Valentines, you can pretty much assume there is nothing left to tell.

Hey, if you’re gonna post with an anonymous name, I don’t think you can beat, “OccupyDCAD”. That made my day!

Parkie, if you didn’t find her posts malicious, either you weren’t the target of them, or your reading comprehension skills need a refresher, or both.

If by “snarky” you mean obnoxious, juvenile, mean-spirited, and dim-witted, you’re correct. And it’s not what our community newspaper should be all about. Koller is the one who should let it die. Quit mentioning her here. Good riddance to her. (Good riddance to using the term “snarky,” too. I never notice myself admiring the intellect of anyone envoking it.)

And yes, it’s ironically fitting that her true colors were exposed in a story that, had she not herself been the subject, she’d have happily locked in her jaws like a dog locks a rabbit, and shaken by the neck until fatal to the reputation of the person in question.

Finally, no, I’ll not reveal my name here to get flamed by the likes of you, Parkie. Your dare is illogical and advertises a complete lack of understanding of how blog comments work, and why they work. I’ll give you a hint: it’s the same reason we allow each other to vote by secret ballot.
