Preston-Royal Central Market Is Open And Packed
The new Preston-Royal Central Market was packed today for the grand opening of its ninth store. The parking lot (which is significantly smaller than any other Central Market) was busy and the aisles (which are significantly higher than any other Central Market) were full.
The store is, however, beautiful. I grabbed a coffee when I first walked in, then did some light grocery shopping to see the selection. Despite the boutique sized store, there really isn’t anything missing. The produce, bakery, and deli had everything and more. After speaking with a butcher, I discovered that you can sample anything you want. And not just at the deli, anything.
“It’s so much more than just a grocery store, everyone has intensive training and is just glad to be here,” said “Josh the Butcher.”
After talking to a few other store associates, I could definitely tell that was true. Even the clerks checking people out had smiles on their faces, despite the busy day. It took no time to check out, however. And after I did I grabbed a panini and did some light writing in the cafe.
If you haven’t already, pick up a copy of last Friday’s Preston Hollow People and check out the story I wrote about all three grocery stores on Preston Road.
Also, let me know in the comments what you think about the new location. Is it just me that’s in love with a grocery store?
