It was quite a night for the Highland Park basketball teams on Tuesday.
The Scots (25-2, 12-0) dismantled McKinney, 70-48, to wrap up the District 10-4A championship. David Allen led the way in scoring for Highland Park with 31 points. The Scots, who have won 12 straight games, are two wins away from an undefeated district run.
Meanwhile, the Lady Scots (22-7, 10-4) wrapped up a playoff berth with a huge 48-45 road win over McKinney. Kaitlyn Read led the way for Highland Park with 21 points. The win avenged a home loss to McKinney earlier this season for the Lady Scots, who will open the Class 4A state playoffs either Monday or Tuesday.
The Lady Scots were fantastic. True team effort. Great group of young ladies and coaches.
Way to go girls! Second place in a tough district. What a pleasure to watch all season!
You were forewarned about the Lady Scots!!! An exciting – VERY exciting season with more to come!
