PC Dad, I think you meant this comment for the post about Stuff* People in the Park Cities Say. It seems to be said quite frequently, but never answered.
Guys, Merritt is no longer writing for Park Cities People. She’s pursuing other opportunities, and we wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors. (Feel free to insert any other employer-on-employee cliches the next time she’s mentioned in the comments.)
Thanks for the info, Dan. Love her or hate her, Merritt was always entertaining. I thought she might have moved into more of a background role at D or here…
Sorry if I am dense, but the only dots I found to connect are that Merritt isn’t simply on some hiatus, and we won’t be seeing her writing around here. Judging by the canned response and qualifier, the departure may not have been amicable. However, that’s not my business.
I always enjoyed her humor even when I didn’t always agree with it. She made things lively.
There are new people with new voices that are developing to fill that role. I’m looking at you, Bradford. I am not looking for a clone, just a light hearted compliment to the other writers.
Also, the intern over at D seems really sharp based on her day one email released on their blog.
I guess I won’t have to go knock on Merritt’s door and grill her on where I will next see her writing. It’s not stalking, I swear. It would have been a public service. I know several people who miss Merritt.
Whatever happened to Merritt Patterson? Does she not work for PCP anymore?

Connect the dots people.

The future is bright.
Oh, and a periodic podcast would be nice. It is fun to hear our writers unscripted/edited.
@khakijack- Very amicable. I love PCP and adore Dan. Beginning February 20 you can read my season 2 recaps of Big Rich Texas on D Magazine’s FrontRow.
And all’s well with the world.

@Merritt. Good news, as long as you won’t stop at Big Rich Texas. Can you get to the truth about the JSB last weekend?
