A Hillcrest Teacher gets National Certification
Congratulations to Theresa McDonald-Oriabure for becoming one of the the few teachers in the Dallas Independent School District who hold a national teaching certification. A science teacher for Hillcrest High School, McDonald-Oriabure completed one of the most rigorous teaching certification programs in the nation, which required completed four different portfolios based on her teaching strategies.
“I have a masters degree, and it was much harder than that,” McDonald-Oriabure said.
Ann McNutt, one of McDonald-Oriabure’s coworkers, said the award was presented to her last night by the school board, and that she is one of the only teachers in the Preston Hollow Area that has received the award.
“She’s an outstanding teacher, and it’s such a huge honor,” McNutt said.
