Definitely an awkward name and somewhat vulgar, as well. But since Mockingbird Station caters to a more adult crowd than say, Snider Plaza, it’s probably not an issue for most.

hmm. Just raising on this blog is in contrastwith Dan’s efforts to get more kids reading… or is it? Which way is this blog going – more family oriented or racy.

    Still miss Merritt.

How many people take their cats to a grooming place? Crazy.

Dear Dirty. I wish I had thought of that moniker. Enviously yours, Meticulously Mustached M.

I am a fan of the salon. Although the name is a little provocative, so is getting a brazilian wax… but people still do it! Mockingbird Station is a more hip, edgy place where shoppers are encouraged to be themselves. The name is meant to be fun, just like the salon! If you were to visit, you would realize that its one of the best around.

Laugh it off, people. Kids aren’t thinking into it, but if they ask, simply say it’s a beauty salon. I actually had my eye brows waxed here a week ago…this place very well may be the best in business! I give it an A+ for the talented staff and cute, girlie atmosphere!

    Hello Everyone!

This is Lisa from The Pretty Kitty. We definitely get some comments for our name. We started with one boutique in So. California years ago, and our popularity and good reputation built from there… So once people visit, they understand our sunny attitude and playful (ok, a bit cheeky!) take on the name. Our customers span everyone from students, to moms, to celebrities, to women CEOs. We are full service, recognized as leaders in what we do, and have a warm welcoming culture years in the making. I am confident you will love us, and I invite you to stop by!

Glad to see some folks still have a sense of humor. The name of the game in marketing is to get people to remember who you are. I think they are succeeding. Also glad to see the PC Police are still monitoring the airwaves. (That’s Politically Correct, not Park Cities…)

I’m surprised Mayor Dick Davis hasn’t come out and said, “See? I was right when I said what kind of clubs would start appearing once that liquor law got passed!”

@UPDad: “Mayor DIck,” albeit descriptive, sounds fairly provocative, too.

haha I noticed this around christmas. I didn’t think anything of the name ‘pretty kitty’ until I saw ‘brazilian waxing’ underneath. I thought it was funny, but I was a bit scandalized for a minute. 🙂 In the end, it’s no big deal, and I wouldn’t say no to giving the place a try.
