Basketball Teams Off to Hot Starts
Both Highland Park basketball teams have started the season on fire.
The Scots and Lady Scots both won last week’s HP Scot Classic. The boys knocked off Parish Episcopal, 63-50, in the opening round, Lake Highlands, 82-67, in the semifinals, and Austin High, 75-57, in the finals. The Scots (4-0) play at Ennis at 7:30 tonight.
Meanwhile, the Lady Scots knocked off Hockaday, 53-28, in the first round of the tourney. Highland Park (6-1) then beat Woodrow Wilson, 71-49, in the semifinals, and district rival McKinney North, 48-42, in the title game. The Lady Scots also beat W.T. White, 62-33, on Monday night.
