HPISD Board to Review Campus Goals Tonight
I’m sure the members of HPISD’s Board of Trustees would be the first to admit that their meetings aren’t necessarily the most exciting meetings around. Here’s how one (overly simplified meeting) usually goes:
5:00 p.m.- Pledge of Allegiance, Texas Pledge of Allegiance
5:02 p.m.- Greeting
5:05 p.m.- Updates on construction, curriculum, the arts, and the education foundation
5:35 p.m.- Powerpoint presentation about school finance
6 p.m.- Closed session
6:20 p.m.- Goodnight, moon.
This isn’t a knock on HPISD at all, it’s just the way every school board across the country operates. Tonight may be a little different.
Each campus will present its goals and objectives for the year (I vote for root beer fountains), which could be a good way for parents to see what a principal’s vision for their child’s school is. My point? If you plan on coming to a Board meeting this school year, this might be the one.
Oh God, Rick Perry’s Texas pledge. My teeth already hurt.
