Join DPS Officers For Highland Park’s Night Out
If it’s been a while since you’ve been to the Highland Park Jail, Tuesday’s your night to reacquaint yourself with the folks running it.
Join the town’s Department of Public Safety at Highland Park Village from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, for National Night Out. DPS officers will perform two SWAT demonstrations (6:15 and 7:15), and kids will have a chance to check out a fire truck and an ambulance. DFW Wildlife will be on hand to showcase a few local animals, as well as answer any questions you (probably) have about urban coyotes.
The mayor, Town Council, and other town officials will be on hand; the event is free and open to the public.
I attended last year’s event and it was a nice evening of snacks, conversation and watching kids get to see and feel all the big fire and emergency vehicles on display. I’ll be there again this year.
How come University Park Police does not do this?
