Morning News Shuts Down Park Cities Blog
Every couple days, I shoot over to the Morning News’ Park Cities blog, to see what they’re working on. Today, it was gone.
The other community blogs — East Dallas, Oak Cliff, etc. — are still active, but the Park Cities one is gone. I know the Morning News laid off longtime PC staffer Lori Stahl a few weeks ago (I think another staffer will take on the beat in a lesser capacity, according to some folks), but it seems like a dagger to shut down the blog.
The part of me that is excited about the possibility of additional readers is overshadowed by the rest of me that fears for newspapers, and, apparently, even their online counterparts.
UPDATE: It’s back up, but there has only been one post since Stahl’s last post on Sept. 2.
