Monterrey Tec Cancels Game

And no, it’s not because of the 46-7 whooping the Scots dropped on them last Friday.

According to the Statesman, the school had to cancel its game against Stony Point after receiving threats from the Zetas drug cartel. Seems the cartel was going to charge the school $30,000 to cross the bridge into the United States.

The school isn’t sure if the demand was a prank, but canceled the trip nonetheless.

I really admire the perseverance of the students and players at Monterey Tec and am sorry this has happened to them.

Even if it is a prank or not. This just speaks about the state of fear that the people from Monterrey live in. Make no mistake, it is terrorism.

I grew up and went to monterrey tec high school and college and played in their football team for a while. People live and breathe soccer, but when it comes to college, football always got the most attention.

This makes me so sad. It’s definitely terrorism. Praying that they can get the violence under control soon.
