@Doglover: Yes, there’s a leash law in University Park — but I take it you already knew that:) If you have perspective about it not being followed or enforced, I’m all ears.
I’m always surprised my how many people let their dogs off their leashes in Goar Park, adjacent to Town Hall! I’ve had unleashed dogs jump on me many times when walking. The owners always say, “Rover’s just saying hello,” or “Fifi is really friendly,” as if it makes it OK. My understanding is that police officers do not issue citations; instead, animal control is contacted, which is useless.
Jumping on me is OK 🙂 …although I could see it might bother some. But the dog bites seem to happen more often than people realize… a lot of these injuries show up at Primacare. Doesn’t seem fair to the dog that has to be put down, just because the owner is anti-leash.
a congressman’s son is arrest for a dui in front of our middle school and this is the best you can up with to blog about?
show some backbone.
How come so many owners let their dogs run unleashed in UP? Isn’t there a leash law of sorts?
Most dog bites seem to be from owners who claim “MY dog is well behaved and would NEVER hurt a child.”
Isn’t a leash protecting the dog, as well as the public?
I doubt that drunk was nearly as cute as this pup. Thanks for the little nugget of sweetness, Georgia. I hope he finds a happy home.
