When And Where Should I Serve Lunch?

Last school year, I served lunch at Highland Park Middle School/McCulloch Intermediate School on the third Thursday of the month. As I’m not a parent in the district — I performed this duty in my role as Park Cities People‘s goodwill ambassador — I’ve received no instructions on whether my shift has changed or I should report to the same cafetorium on Sept. 15. Anyone have any insight? If I don’t hear from HPMS/MIS, maybe I’ll declare myself a free agent.

Oh, Lordy…please don’t quit, Dan! They are desperate for volunteers at the middle school this year. Please call the school or one of the people who worked on your shift last year; they’ll get you signed up in a hurry. Normally, sign-up is done thru the district’s PTA page on the HPMS website with a generic passcode & user name. The school can give you that info. Thank you for volunteering last year and I hope you’ll do the same this year!

Try Armstrong this year! Oldest of the seven schools and the cafeteria staff is great.

Thanks for the tips, folks. I’m signed up for my old shift, working the hot line on third Thursdays at HPMS/MIS.

Good on ya Dan! HPISD appreciate it and i’m sure it’s fun for the kids to meet you. Maybe you’ll inspire some future journalists out there.

You inspired me! Although I am not a journalist, it wouldn’t hurt to build rapport between the kids and HPDPS. Great job!
