Have You Got Your Parking Sticker Yet?

University Park residents who live near SMU or Highland Park High School can apply for their residential parking permits. This page on the UP website says enforcement of the SMU parking zone begins Sept. 1. I assume the other zone begins a week from today, when classes resume at the high school.

Talk about irony. UP implements a parking district around SMU to force SMU to provide adequate on-campus parking then denies SMU a zoning change to construct the parking lot needed to comply with the request.

U.P. does not have the manpower to enforce what they have already, mustless a NEW PARKING DISTRICT.

We live on McFarlin near SMU and have recently picked up our “2” parking stickers we are allotted. Where is the potential location of the parking garage they are trying to construct?

Not a garage but a surface lot expansion at University and Dublin. UP was upset with SMU staff using the park’s parking spaces and denied the request to alleviate the situation by expanding the parking lot across the street.
