Maggie Bullock and Kirk Russ weddingMary Anne Bullock and Kirk Burdette Russ were united in marriage on the evening of May 29, 2010, at Park Cities Presbyterian Church. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Mark Alan Davis. Vocalists Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Taylor Hargrave and organist/pianist Colin Howland provided the nuptial music. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Brook Hollow Golf Club.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Nash Bullock of University Park. She is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Jack Thornton Bell of Dallas and the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman K. Bullock of Houston.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Burdette Russ of Jackson, Miss. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Craven McCord of Columbus, Miss., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Roderick Seal Russ Jr. of Jackson, Miss.

The bride selected a silk satin gown with a slim A-line silhouette designed by Priscilla of Boston. The gown was adorned with Swarovski crystal encrusted Alencon lace appliqués on the bodice and along the hem. The waist featured a satin band that was complemented by a lace-and-pearl broach made from her mother’s wedding dress. The bride wore her mother’s cathedral-length Alencon lace veil, intricately beaded with tiny seed pearls.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents. Her father escorted her down the aisle. Attending her as maids of honor were Susan Claire Burgher and Abigail Anne Burgher, the bride’s cousins. Bridesmaids included Kathryn Lewis Alexander, Caroline Chisolm Cannada, Carley Catherine Clayton, Molly Elizabeth Concannon, Sissy Lane Evans, Katherine Pruette Farris, Sara Tyson Husband, Elisabeth Hill Jordan, Sarah Shepherd Knight, Katie Leigh Korb, Anne Elizabeth Mullen, Margaret Elizabeth Sheridan, Kathleen O’Connor Taylor, Ann Elizabeth Waller, and Mary Katherine Whelan. Members of the house party included Katherine Wright Allen; Elizabeth Anderson Russ, cousin of the groom; Elizabeth Sarah Sharp; Katherine Brown Snell; and Virginia Sheley Taras. Flower girls were Elizabeth Grace Craddock and Emmy Gayle Craddock.

Serving as the best man was William Burdette Russ, father of the groom. The groomsmen were Mark Newman Adcock; Daniel Baker Benefield; Cedric Waggoner Burgher III, cousin of the bride; Jack Thornton Burgher, cousin of the bride; Sean Philip Douglas; Michael Ryan Horne; Benjamin David James; Nicholas Barranco Jew; Matthew Wallace Monsour; Dakota Jasper Moore; Walker Palmer Roberts; William Michael Russ, brother of the groom; Phillip Anthony Sandifer; David Lee Traxler III; and Clark Randall Zelenka. The groom’s nephew, William Warriner Russ, served as the ring bearer. Mr. Jack Stanley Oakes Jr. was the cross bearer and Mr. and Mrs. Chris Lipscomb read scripture.

The bride is a graduate of Highland Park High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in education from the University of Mississippi, where she was a member of Chi Omega. She is currently a kindergarten teacher at the Madison Ridgeland Academy in Jackson, Miss.

The groom is a graduate of Jackson Academy. He received his Bachelor of Arts in biology at the University of Mississippi, where he was a member of Sigma Nu, Phi Beta Kappa, and Phi Kappa Phi and a Taylor Medalist. He is currently enrolled in studies at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine.

Following a wedding trip to Ceiba Del Mar, Mexico, the couple are at home in Jackson.
