SMU Boulevard to Reopen Monday

SMU Boulevard is scheduled to reopen to vehicular and pedestrian traffic Monday morning.

Landscaping work will continue on the street — which was closed due to construction on the George W. Bush Presidential Center — through August. While the street is reopening, there will be an occasional need to close the street temporarily to move construction equipment; the proper signage and flag men will be present during the closures.

For additional info, contact University Park director of public works Bud Smallwood at 214-987-5400.

The library construction folks were exactly on schedule (even a little early) in opening SMU Blvd. They have been exemplary in keeping the neighbors informed of what will happen when and in keeping construction debris, etc., out of the neighborhood. I only wish the City of UP — especially the Public Works Dept. — were as well managed and competent.
