Highland Park High School senior Tiffany Houghton had to make a tough choice. Stay with the Belles or pursue her music career. She chose the music thing and after taking a look at this video, I see why. She’ll be in concert at House of Blues on July 6.
I’m no longer handing out $20 to each of my kids every time I turn around. Movies, eating out etc. It adds up in the summer. I asked them to think of things they can do for free. They’re still thinking. So I’m taking reader suggestions.
Lord, you aren’t kidding! I was working on our family budget this week and saw that the “kids activities” column showed triple digits for movies, fast food and amusement parks just since school let out…OMG! I think they need to ride their bikes more, hang at the parks more and in lieu of those things, hit the pool for the day with no more than $7 in spending money.
Get a permit and paint curbs. Start a dog walking business for the elderly, cut mistletoe out of the tree to sell during the holidays . Go to the blueberry farms and pick berries to sell.
I,ve found it easier to just strap an ATM to my back……….
