Maybe it’s just me, but rolling Don Carter’s house in University Park doesn’t seem like the best way to celebrate the Mavericks’ first NBA title. (Thanks for the heads-up, A.B.) Dirk Nowitzki got much better treatment in Preston Hollow.
my husband spotted the “rollers.” they were older gentlemen, in case you thought this was only a prank performed by teenagers. they left a sign on the door that said, “proud parents of the dallas mavericks,” so i’m guessing that they were friends.
HOW fun – wish I had thought of it! I was so excited to see them on the podium. And any family that gives out the huge candybars at Halloween like they do – are still kids at heart and probably loved this!
it’s a very strange “honor.” when i was in high school, the only kids who got “rolled” or “papered” as we called it, were the in or popular ones. my brother got papered because he was on the football team, by some of the cheerleaders. my dad was so angry about the mess and cleanup, and is closer in age to the carters. so we were wondering whether the carters would be amused or bummed that they got this sort of attention. i’m glad to hear they are not bothered by it. they are such nice people and deserve to be happy.

My husband and his friends are the Carter’s buddies. Mr. and Mrs. Carter LOVED IT!!!! “Icing on the cake”!!
Dan Koller obviously does not know the Carters…
Coach Carlisle’s house was rolled as well!
