We Are GO For Apache. GO For Apache

After weeks of legal wrangling, the UP City Council unanimously approved the Park Cities Rotary Club’s plan to land an Apache helicopter at the firehouse during the July 4 festivities.

Seems the Rotarians landed a decent insurance policy ($10 million) and the FAA backed off their previous claims that they wouldn’t approve the land.

So if one of your lifelong goals is to stand 30 yards away from an Apache helicopter and hold your fingers up so it looks like you’re a giant crushing a tiny chopper, Goar Park is the place for you July 4.

It is not a go for landing yet. We are still waiting for Pentagon approval which is SOP in these situations. My son, Thomas Fitch, will be flying it from its base in Conroe, Texas if Army approval is secured.
