Happy Royal Wedding Eve

Much like Good Morning America, Park Cities People has my mom a correspondent on the ground at Buckingham Palace. So just in case you’ve missed the live 24/7 coverage on every channel, here is a pic of the hype, going on right now. Unfortunately, our correspondent isn’t overly interested in keeping us updated so I, along with my daughters, will be up at 4:00 a.m. to make sure we don’t miss a thing. Yes, there’s DVR, but that’s just not the same.

Will you be rising with the Brits?

UPDATE: I asked for cheesy souvenir items. My mom delivers. The mug and fridge magnet- mine.

I might Tivo it, but there’s no way I’d wake up at that ungodly hour to sit through a wedding without the prospect of a reception afterward.

Why would I wake up early to watch an imbred family wedding?

What time does the real stuff start? Are the bride and groom showing up at 4 a.m. or is that when all the TV people start yapping and asking “Who are you wearing?”

Definitely tivo-ing so can fast forward thru the blather, and not have to get up in the middle of the night to watch it. Plus we’re going to see the highlights replayed a bazillion times on every channel.

What a bunch of grouches. And William and Kate are not inbred. YES we will be up at 2:00 am to watch every detail leading up to this fabulous day with our tea and scones.

@A.B., London is 6 hours ahead of us, so 4:00am will be 10:00am there. The timeline says they both head to the Abbey at 10:00am, the service starts @ 11:00am – so 5:00am here. I’m sure between 4am & 5am will be all the coverage of the attendees & their attire, then the dress with the bride inside of it will be revealed sometime in that hour. I’m doing the DVR, I’d get up if I had a daughter at home that wanted me to, as my mother & I did in 1981 for his parents wedding, but my house full of men couldn’t care less.

@kmom, you can come to my house in your jammies. Boys are staying in bed, girls are up at 4. The boys are under strict rules- if they happen to wake up and come in the room, they can NOT make fun of weddings, love or the like. And they can NOT hold the remote. We’ll have picture in picture operating AND live texts from my mother.

Tivo’d BBCA’s coverage. Watched the pertinent parts in all of 7 minutes before taking my kids to school. Bravo!

Merritt – My husband is going to be in London next month and offered to bring me a William and Kate souvenir. Would you ask your mom what my options are because I think he may need a little direction.
