Dalai Lama to Visit SMU

The Dalai Lama will swing by SMU on May 9 to take part in the school’s 10th Hart Global Leaders Forum.

Presumably he’ll discuss:

– world peace

– the morality of nuclear power following the Fukushima Daiichi disaster

– just what Jennifer Farver was thinking wearing that last-season Kate Spade dress to the Chi O mixer

The Lama will also receive an honorary degree, the one thing that’s been holding him back from his lifelong dream of being a mid-level manager at Jackson Hewitt. The event is open to the public, but tickets are limited. For more information, go here.

    Also amusing that “Why is . . . Kate Mitchell Awesome” is a “Related Post” to the Dalai Lama.

    Just tried for tickets and it’s already sold out. Interesting that when applying for the tickets/wait list, you have to authorize the State Department to conduct a background check. Security is going to be tight, I’m guessing.
