Rise and Shine, Park Cities (4-21-11)
1. Allow me to introduce the 2011-12 edition of the Highland Park Scotsmen: Scott Christopherson, Cliff Davis, Patrick Garvin, Sterling Gomez, and Chris Smith. Run those flags proudly, men.
2. When I received a press release yesterday that said, “The Shops at Mockingbird Signs Tenant Lease With Fuzzy’s Taco Shop,” my first question was “Where the heck are The Shops at Mockingbird?” As it turns out, that’s the name of the shopping center just east of Love Field that is anchored by L.A. Fitness. By summer’s end, it will also have a Fuzzy’s. All of you West Highland Park, Devonshire, and Bluffview residents are in for a treat. There’s a Fuzzy’s literally down the street from my house in Richardson. Good stuff.
3. Friends of the Lost Boys is hosting a May 5 screening of Lost Boys of Sudan, a documentary directed by Oscar-winning Highland Park graduate Megan Mylan. Advance tickets are $15; they’ll run you $20 if you buy them the day of the show at the Angelika.
