Rise and Shine, Park Cities! (4/13/11)
1. Last night was the University Park Planning & Zoning commission meeting about the latest plan for the Chase Bank building at Daniel and Hillcrest. I, for one, can’t wait to read Bradford Pearson’s colorful report on the meeting. Because, we haven’t had enough of this site. No siree.
2. Head over to Tootsie’s in the Plaza at Preston Center tonight for Kidney Texas’ Stepping Out in Style kickoff party. The festivities start at 6:30, and 15 percent of all purchases will go to Kidney Texas. Yes, it’s the perfect excuse to bust out the AmEx and get your cocktail on.
3. Don’t tell me you don’t know of a mom that really deserves a fabulous makeover courtesy of Christy M. Boutique and Osgood O’neil. Perhaps it’s time for all the under-appreciated moms to turn the dial up on the guilt-o-meter? Leave a few subtle hints to your friends? Find out more about our Mother’s Day Makeover contest right cheer, and make sure they know to send nominations to editor@peoplenewspapers.com.
As far as planning and zonning goes, can someone do a story on those code violation signs on most of the block in UP? The yard signs from the city look junky.
At first, I didn’t care about them but now, they have been there for 5 months! Are they ever going to take them down? Also, they look tacky to begin with. If the city is going to threaten their citizens with potential fines, can’t they just send a letter in the mail so Dallas folks don’t make fun of us????
@Purdue Guy: Email me the location of the signs and we’ll look into it!
