The siren song of the ice cream truck was very tempting in my Richardson neighborhood this weekend. I never saw or heard such trucks when I lived in Lakewood. Do they operate in the Park Cities?
A little boy was hit (and maybe killed) by one a while back. The backlash was banning them. It is so sad but on streets where a lot of cars park and it is tight to get through, it makes sense. Kids were darting out from between parked cars.
No musical ice cream trucks here; just the annoying catering trucks flying down the streets and honking to alert the construction workers it’s lunch time.
No. They were banned/outlawed several years ago.
Bummer

Dan, check the archives of the PCP and I’m sure you can come up with the story. I was 7 or 8 years ago (??).

I’m still mystified why the PC loves cupcakes but hates ice cream.
M,
As soon as ice cream becomes more trendy, again, than cupcakes, tacos, cookies, or frozen yogurt, the PC will be lousy with them.
Yogurt trucks please!! With toppings!
A boy was hit by an ice cream truck, and was an HPHS 09 grad. I won’t print his name, but his mental faculties suffered dramatically.
