Rise and Shine, Park Cities (3-31-11)
1. As of today, Primos will serve storied Victoria beer on tap — and be the first Texas restaurant to do so, says spokeswoman Valerie Bell. Cheers.
2.. University Park resident Emily Howse’s first book, Zitface, makes its official debut Friday. The angst-y, ‘tween-geared novel has been getting some good buzz on reader forums, and may have a bid with Scholastic.
For more about Howse, a former school counselor (who — guess what? — has beautiful, clear skin) pick up next week’s issue of Park Cities People.
2. Keith’s Comics is gearing up for a three-day birthday bash on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, complete with heavy discounts and comics as cheap as 22 cents at the Mockingbird Lane location. Godzilla cover artist Matt Frank will visit during a Sunday-afternoon party from 1 to 3 p.m.
There’s this too, per store owner Keith Colvin:
From now until April 1, come into either Keith’s Comics in North Dallas or Mockingbird and pick out up to four items and make me an offer on them. I may say no, I may counter-offer… but I may say yes!
Happy birthday! To me!
Happy birthday, Keith.
