1. There’s no doubt that the school-funding crisis in this state is severe. But isn’t the music in this Highland Park ISD video on school finance a little dramatic? It sounds as if spaceships should be flying across the screen instead of sacks of money.
2. Highland Park Presbyterian Day School has booked country singer Deryl Dodd for the second annual Stampede Soiree. Tickets for the fundraiser are $75 and can be purchased here. The soiree will happen here one week from tonight.
3. The SMU Athletic Forum is bringing ESPN’s Bill Simmons to town on Wednesday. Listening to him will run you $60. Given my preferences regarding the guy’s writing, I’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t spend part of the luncheon sharing e-mails from his readers.
