Jesuit Sends Garrison to Principal’s Office

Jesuit announced its newest principal yesterday, and he’s someone who is plenty familiar with the prep school.

Thomas Garrison graduated from Jesuit in 1992, and he’s been on the faculty there since 1997. In between those years, he earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in secondary education from Austin College.

Garrison joined the faculty as an English teacher, and he received the Hal F. Tehan Family Award for excellence in education from his peers in 2000. In 2003, he was named the assistant principal for student academics.

Garrison will officially take over the principal’s post on July 1. He’ll succeed Mike Earsing, who was recently promoted to Jesuit’s presidency.

“Tom Garrison brings a wide range of outstanding attributes and skills to the job of principal, most notably his understanding of Jesuit foundational concepts and his innovation and creativity in the areas of curriculum and academic student services,” Earsing said.

Tom is an Austin College graduate. Like me. So I had to give him a shout out. Go Roos!
