Turpin Named 10-4A MVP
Highland Park 6-5 senior wing Luke Turpin was named the Most Valuable Player on the All-District 10-4A basketball team. He averaged 14.7 points and 6.0 rebounds this season.
Teammate Chase Fletcher, a 6-7 sophomore post, was named Newcomer of the Year on the team. Scots head coach David Piehler was also named Co-Coach of the Year, along with McKinney’s Wes Watson.
The Scots, who finished 23-9 (12-2) and won the 10-4A title, also had one first-team selection (junior wing David Allen), one second-team selection (senior guard Zach Chu), and five honorable mention recipients (Austin Franks, James Fraschilla, Jon Jessen, Caleb Landes, and Ben Strodel).

Congratulations, Luke! It was a joy watching you play the last 2 seasons. You always competed as hard as you could and never gave up. You are an inspiration and a great role model for younger players. Best wishes to you wherever you go in the years ahead. Blessings to you!
