Toto, We Are Not in Kansas Anymore
Every now and then, ok maybe regularly I like to check out my surroundings in between plays at high school sporting events. At first glance over at the Bishop Dunne boys basketball team bench
earlier this season, I just saw some red basketball shoes. But after a much needed week off for the winter break I could not help but think of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz and how much these shoes looked just like her ruby red slippers. Maybe it was because the movie was on cable at least 10 times while I was at home. I took a couple of frames and with little post production work this is what I came away with. They probably won’t make into the pages of Oak Cliff People but that is just fine. I just felt like sharing them. The other shot is just a nice sportsmanship shot. The smile on the Bishop Dunne player’s face was an added bonus. I guess the moral here is whether a professional or amateur photographer be aware of your surroundings. You never know what you might see!
