Winter Update (Again)
According to Highland Park detective/spokeswoman/Jill-of-all-trades Marty Nevil, Wycliffe Avenue is closed, and sanding can’t begin until all the precipitation stops.
According to the Daily Campus, it’s been almost 30 years since SMU shuttered its doors for three straight days. Anyone know how long it’s been since they’ve been closed for four straight? Any old time Mustangs want to wager a guess?
As for conditions from Uptown to downtown (Dallas has to be the only city in America where those two neighborhoods are adjacent, no?), people are moving, but driving a bit too fast, I would say. The snow is packed, but plenty of people are still sliding out.
My opinion? Stay home, but if you have to drive, drop it into a low gear.
UPDATE: University Park trash collection will take place tomorrow, not today.
Any other updates from around town, send them to bradford@peoplenewspapers.com who, along with one D staffer two D staffers, are holding down the fort at 750 N. St. Paul Street.
SMU will be closed this weekend also according to an e-mail my prof husband received.
