Jordan Scribner and Taylor Chesnut WeddingJordan Scribner and Taylor Chesnut exchanged wedding vows Oct. 2, 2010, in Logsdon Chapel at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. The ceremony was officiated by Darin Maurer, the groom’s uncle from Houston. A reception followed at The Warehouse on Walnut.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Scribner of Abilene. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Bill Sparks and the late Mr. Bill Sparks of Locust Grove, Okla., and Mr. and Mrs. Roye Scribner of Salem, Ark.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas G. Chesnut of Dallas. He is the grandson of Mr. William G. Chesnut and the late Mrs. William G. (Mary Lou) Chesnut of Dallas and Mr. and Mrs. William T. McKenzie of Tyler, Texas.

The bride chose a magnolia, mermaid silhouette gown with a soft sweetheart neckline. Its rouched bodice, with tulle embroidered lace over silky dupioni, was highlighted by a semi-cathedral-length train.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents. Attending as maid of honor was Chloe Scribner, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids included Alicia Casseb, Catherine Chesnut, Kenzie Chesnut, Leila Cornelius, Rachel Heins, Mackenzie Kimbrough, Melissa McCormack, Caitlin Robinson, and Kathleen Stillwell.

The best man was Doug Chesnut, the father of the groom, and Will Stroud was second best man. Groomsmen included Clayton Bell, Richard Crider, Porter Fuqua, Steven Heffner, Connor Scribner, and Vince Upperman.

Jordan and Taylor’s four siblings — Chloe and Connor Scribner, and Catherine and Kenzie Chesnut — read scripture during the ceremony. Corrine Arnot and Caroline Fair were members of the house party.

The bride is a graduate of Abilene High School. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from Texas A&M University. She was also a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. The bride is a consultant with KPMG.

The groom is a graduate of Trinity Christian Academy. He received a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from Texas A&M, where he also minored in business and received a Project Management Certificate. He is an engineer with Samsung.

After a wedding trip to Little Dix Bay in the British Virgin Islands, the newlyweds reside in Austin.
