Packers Will Practice at Highland Park
I told you back in August that if the weather was bad during Super Bowl week that the NFC team, which ended up being Green Bay, would move practice from SMU to Highland Park’s new indoor facility.
Sure enough, the icy weather that rolled into Dallas/Fort Worth on Tuesday morning has officially forced the Packers to shift over to Highland Park for Wednesday’s practice.
School has already been cancelled for Wednesday, which should make things a little bit easier from a logistical standpoint for the Packers.
It’s pretty surreal to think the NFC champions are practicing for a Super Bowl, which will be played in Arlington, in a facility that didn’t open until six months ago.
“Surreal” is one word for the timing. Suspicious is another.
@DemBones, are you implying that the HPISD powers-that-be made this ice storm happen?
@Pigskinnie. That would make them The Powers That Be! Just convenient that the building was built before the Super Bowl came to town. That’s all.
Interesting conspiracy theory
Are the practices open or closed? Times?
Practices are closed.
Have you noticed the totally Green Bay decorated cottage on Lovers Lane across from the baseball field? It has Green Bay wreaths, green and gold bows, and all kinds of other GB friendly decor in the front yard. How fun for that family that the Packers will pass by their house each day on the way to practice!
Interesting? You are too nice, JT.
Just got an email from the high school about parking the rest of the week. No one will be allowed to park around where the Packers will be practicing and the 4th floor of the garage is closed because of ice. What a pain and who cares about the Packers. Aren’t they used to this kind of weather?
I would love to get my high schooler’s picture in front of those doors, but I know the request would be met with a “you’re such a dork, mom”
@TK,
Photoshop.
i am glad we have a school our football team can be proud of.
@former scot #24- Next year’s bumper sticker?
“HP- a school our team can be proud of”
Per the PCP, the district only got paid $5 grand to rent out the facility? We got schooled.
