Digg’s Taco to Open Jan. 31

The new Hillcrest shop will begin catering to SMU students (and everyone else) by the end of the month, according to a release.

The question is, do the Park Cities need another taco shop? Digg’s owner Joey Milan seems to think so; I guess we’ll find out in a week.

One thing I’m certain of: if they’re open on Sunday mornings, they’ll probably make a few bucks from, let’s say, slightly dehydrated co-eds.

Speaking of things cooking, what’s the deal with the fire in the basement at the high school this morning? Kids, some in shorts and Tshirts, stood in sub-freezing temps for 20 minutes or so while several trucks of fire fighters were in the building. Just thought y’all would have a post about it.

What other taco shops in the Park Cities?

What is the point of being negative? Give Mr. Milan a break. America was built by entrepreneurs. There are plenty of Park cities residents who have created great wealth for everyone by creating successful restaurants.

A.B. is right, there are no real taco places (cheap and fast) located in the Park Cities. I have to get my Torchy’s fix weekly, but a good taco place close by would be welcome.

Rusty Taco is located at University and Greenville and full of Park Cities families. Delicious tacos that are only $2.00, and service is friendly and fast.

I should’ve written “the Park Cities area.” My mistake.

I’m with you on all counts Old Guy. Also on Sunday I bet they get plenty of business from families leaving HPUMC. He ought to open for breakfast / brunch on that day.

Rusty Taco is my closest go-to spot, but since I live near the Tollway it isn’t exactly around the corner. I do cruise up to Torchy’s on occasion, though. Yum!

Again – that spot has failed literally 10 different times. This won’t be any different.

@girls mom – Been to Rusty Taco once – think that was enough. Currently I will schlep another 10 minutes up Preston to Torchy’s if the need for a taco arises. Hope I will dig Digg’s.

Maybe at least this spot will be clean. I was horrified with the conditions of the last tenant. I walked in for some pizza/pasta with my kids and walked right back out after seeing BUGS! Unfortunately, I wasn’t the only one who had this experience.

Let’s hope Mr. Milan spent some significant money on gutting that gross place out.
