Rise and Shine, Park Cities (01-19-11)

1. Again with the phone books on porches in University Park yesterday. My 9 year old said it best, “So they make a hard copy of every number for everyone even if you’re never gonna call them? Why?” I don’t know why, sweetie.

2. It was 20 years ago this month that Park Cities resident Nancy Dillard Lyon died. Her husband Richard was found guilty of  murder and sentenced to life in prison. Those who knew her find it hard to believe two decades have passed since that tragic day and remember her fondly.

Ahh, the genius of a 9 yo. Perhaps we could arrange for delivery directly into our blue recycling boxes?

Wouldn’t it be great if UP could also outlaw the distribution of door flyers and free sample newspapers?

I recently asked an AT&T rep the very same question. She said the print versions are still in high demand, despite all the info being online and in an iPhone app–for free. Of course, putting local kids on the cover doesn’t hurt either.
