Book of Dallas Sketches Features HP Town Hall

Robert Wilonsky over at the Dallas Observer posted a very cool book of sketches from 1933. The book, Sketches of Dallas by Guy F. Cahoon, has a really neat drawing of Highland Park Town Hall (pictured above) and Turtle Creek. Other notable buildings include the Dallas Country Club and the Third Church of Christ Scientist on Oak Lawn Ave.

Wilonsky says the book, one of 300, was given away as Christmas gifts on behalf of the First National Bank of Dallas.

I’m the proud owner of a copy as well. $15 at Half Price Books mother ship on NW Highway. That and over 100 hours of searching the shelves, browsing. Will consider trading for a copy of “Helen Corbitt, the Balenciaga of Food” by Elizabeth Ann Johnson.

    Amy S,
Would you consider just selling it outright?
