Unconventional Christmas Gifts in The Hollow
Tired of scouring the mall for the perfect teacher gift? Had your fill of Chicken Soup for the Teacher’s Soul? There are only so many sappy books a person can own and appreciate, but there is one gift that keeps on giving.
Hillcrest High School’s Angel Fund supports 20 senior scholarships and is sponsored by the PTSA. You can honor a teacher, coach, administrator, or anyone else on staff by making a donation in his or her name. An acknowledgment card will be delivered to each honoree. Last year, the PTSA raised around $10,000 to award during the senior banquet in May. Deanna Williams, chair of the scholarship committee, said the Angel Fund is the perfect way to think outside of the gifting box.
“The teacher gets something a little more meaningful than another paperweight or knickknack,” Williams said.
