Hillcrest, Thomas Jefferson, Take Home Awards
As the holidays draw nearer, most students are already dreaming of sugar plums and iPads under the tree. But teams from two local schools were hard at work this weekend at the Academic Decathlon, securing spots for 2011.
Hillcrest High School won first place in its division at the district competition on Saturday, and Thomas Jefferson High School took home second place honors. Both schools will advance to the regional contest in January at J.J. Pearce High School. In all, seven DISD schools won awards.
